Q. in manual, when you come to a complete stop you hold the brakes and clutch right why do sometimes you see the car roll back and how to do it sometimes you see the backlight is not on

A. If you have the clutch depressed, it is separating power from the engine to the transmission. If the brake is not applied, the vehicle may roll. The "reverse" light should not come on unless the transmission is shifted into reverse.

A. On some trucks you can do this depending on which trans it is. You will have to remove the tailsection (this is where the transfer case will bolt up) If it does not have a removable tailsection (6-8 in. long) it cannot be done.

What causes the clutch to burn in a manual transmission?
Q. and also, is it a very strong or distinct smell? My car is diesel and there is a light smell in the car which I am guessing is the diesel but I am not sure. It doesn't smell like anything burnt, but then again I just learned how to drive a manual transmission.

A. Under the truck, on the side of the transmission there is a filler plug. The oil level is determined by removing this plug and filling until oil comes out of the hole. Same with the differentials.

A. There are normally many things that you will need to change. The computer, and all related electrical equipment. The clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, and the 3 pedal set up. Most autos have bigger brake pedals since there's more room. You will probably need to change the drive shaft and other related pieces as well.
